The Black liberation movement of the 1960s inspired members of the Nation of Islam to reject their last names for the letter “X”. Some African Americans did the same but adopted African names. This revolution affected Christianity profoundly, and, who Jesus Christ was, the meaning of His Gospel and mission were redefined. This course will explore these redefinitions.
